Cooper Davis Memorial Foundation-Fentanyl Awareness & Education

$
The mission of the Cooper Davis Memorial Foundation is to help spread awareness around the dangers of counterfeit pills so that we can save families the heartache of losing a loved one. Every life is precious and we want to prevent others from making that one choice that could have a deadly outcome.
Less than one month after our precious 16 year old son, Cooper, tragically lost his life after taking a fake pill containing fentanyl, the DEA issued a Public Safety Alert warning of the unprecedented crisis related to the alarming increase in the lethality and availability of fake prescription pills containing fentanyl. This PSA came with the launch of the DEA’s One Pill Can Kill Public Awareness Campaign to educate the public of the dangers of counterfeit pills. The DEA seized enough fentanyl in 2021 to provide a lethal dose to every American. A fatal dose of fentanyl is small enough to fit on the tip of a pencil. In 2020, fentanyl poisoning became the leading cause of death for adults ages 18-45. Here in the state of Kansas, fentanyl related deaths for ages 15-29 were up 789% in 2019/2020 when compared to 2017/2018! Much of this fentanyl is being sold to our children on social media apps like SnapChat.
